Founder and CEO, Boombust
John saw too many people facing widespread layoffs when the economy receded in 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. After he graduated from Berkeley Haas with his MBA in 2022, a familiar pattern re-emerged, another economic downturn that left employees who struggled through the last two years jobless. John experienced these layoffs firsthand in the technology startups he joined in 2018 and 2020 when the pandemic began.
Boombust was founded in the Fall of 2022 to reimagine the future of work. Boombust is the synthesis of three core products that use our technology platform to supercharge its subscribers. Today, Boombust offers fractional staffing solutions, career upskilling/coaches, and experienced executive advisors.

We are building something long-term. We’re scrappy in a lot of ways and love quick wins too, but we're mindful not to burn cash to achieve hyper-growth and flame out.
